If your liner parts do not come out:

What I use:
A sink, maybe a towel to put under the helmet to protect it, some soap, and a soft bristle brush.

Liquid laudry soap is good. Shampoo will probably leave a nicer smell. Dish soap will be effective too but leave dish soap smell.

I tend ot put the soapy water in a bowl next to the sink. I dip the brush in and use enough water to wet the liner surface. Brush well, dip often. When I've done a thourough job, I put the helmet under the shower head. If you have a hand held, even better. In that case, I keep helmet right side up and shower from underneath. All the dirty water runs off. Squeeze that padding with fingers to get excess water out.

I lay it on its side away from direct heat. Maybe place a fan in front. Takes a good 48hrs to dry.

Note: if you use the dishwasher, you need to know how hot the water temp is. The safety liner can cook under heat. A slight decrease in its ability to absorb energy will not be visible to the eye. Just something more to fret about.

Enjoy a clean smelling helmet.
