well, saw the movie last night...

I must admit, I only went to see it for the bike, but the movie itself was very well done. Not for everyone, but VERY well done none the less (better than I thought it was going to be).

The Roadster was the only product placement in the entire movie, not only that, but there is a shot with the bike in the fore ground, and, on the big screen, the roundel was probably a good 4 feet across.... (BMW Motorrad must have paid a pretty penny for all of this).

The Roadster was almost stock (with the luggage rack) as seen in the pic above but there were a couple of changes:

There were actually two bikes used. The main one was silver as in the pic, but there was also a black or purple one... at the very beggining. (I think it was purple, but everything was happening so quickly)

The gas cap was replaced with some sort of futuristic device. Nothing really special there.

The most interesting part though:

At one point it almost looked like the bike had a k1200r tank on it. Specificaly the "wings" that are on the back part of the tank that are above the knee/thigh area appeared to be much "sharper". Although this may have just been the angle at which the bike was shot from.

Also, the front fender appeared to be different, not by much... but it was a little more "aggressive." Same basic shape, but all of the lines were alot sharper. The roadster in the pic above doesn't show this. So either it was the fast paced nature of the movie that played tricks on my eyes, or the pic doesn't feature the movie bike.

When I saw these differences, for a split second it struck me as how a r1200r may look. (more aggresive and sharper lines, etc). But the 1150 final drive, etc was enough to squash any dreams of a sneak-peak.

Now, granted, all this may have just been my imagination, so feel free to correct me if anyone else has seen the film.

The bike is featured in the first scenes in the movie, and not again after that. If you wanted, you could go in to watch just that and walk out... although I suggest seeing the complete movie for the visual and theatrical aspects of the film.
