I'm hoping to seal a deal on an '04 R and these look pretty cool, but only know what is on the Twistedthrottle site:

This design works with a ring that installs on the gas cap ring and has a pull tab to pop it off for gassing up:

I have this tank bag as well as the smaller version and I love them both!

I couldn't find a magnetic bag that I felt mounted secure on the tank... I went with the SW-Motech and its fantastic.

Easy on, easy off, secure at speed and not a trouble to move out of the way for fueling!

I really like the looks of that one above.

I have a Big Mak. It is really convenient for re-fueling because it just flips out of the way. Also, it does not touch the tank at all. however, I think it is really ugly.

Just bought one of these, not here yet, but I wanted something small so as not to booger up the looks of the R with a big honking bag. I have one of those on my F650GS, and that look fits the enduro better. Still, I've gotten used to having something to stuff odds and ends into, like sunglasses, pens, cell phone, and the registration for when I get pulled over.... inevitable with all this boxer power :P

RKA tankbag

Didn't have a lot of $$$ to spend on a tank bag. Purchased an expandable bag with a three point mount from RKA, added some electricity with a Powerlet kit. Now have all I really need for about $200. Was the cheapest option for me and honestly it works just fine. As gas ups I just un latch the rear mount and flip the bag forward. Not as trick as some of the other bags, but who cares it still keeps my stuff off the road and well organized.

Does anyone know if magnetic bags will erase data on PDAs or cell phones with memory cards?

I don't think so. Build up enough static and discharge through the devices, and you might get your wish.
