I just got 31 on a test ride thrash on the new R1200R. The onboard computer tells you just how much you are spending as you ride!
50-55 from my 1150 though.

I get my best mileage 2 up.

I find I can get about 320 Km's per tank, putting in about 17, or 18 liters a time. I think that's pretty good. Especially since my Intrruder would go 200 Km's on almost the same amount of fuel.

I need to revise my earlier post about my incredible gas mileage while riding in Colorado this summer: the 55.99 mileage I reported earlier was not my best tank. I got 57.46 mpg on one tank. I'm still amazed .... back down at sea level I'm back to 42 or so mpg.

I'm getting jealous.
Around town, admitedly where most of my driving is done, I'm typically in the low 30's. I've gotten as high as 48 on longer (300-500 mile) trips, but never over the half-century mark.
Maybe this is because I have relatively few miles on the clock - at this stage, only about 15k.

Hello all, I am new here as I just bought an 04 1150R a month and 4K miles ago. I live at 9500 ft in sw colorado and have been averaging 50 mph running a mix of prem and mid grade. Bike had 6k on it and now has 10K. It is my understanding that at alltitude, w/less air/air starved , the bike runs rich, but the FI adjusts for it and leans out the mix. My guru mechanic friend said to get the freshest gas rather than the highest octane at alltitude in the mountains when most do not buy premium. He says the compression is so much less at alltitude, that it is hard to hurt your engine with preignition issues. love the bike. Oh, I burnt about 3/4 qt of oil, 20-50 dino, between 6K and 9700 mile for those of you keeping track.
