I rode the 1100 Breva last Friday.
Very nice bike to ride, very similar riding position to the R1150R, handle bars, peg position etc.
Not as much punch down low as the R, but seemed to come on up high,
although, that feeling maybe because of the lack of low grunt.
Comfortable to ride, steered well, and fantastic brakes(Brembos)
Even without a screen, wind feeling was not all that bad, although I didnt get above 110kph.
The worst part is the price. $1,500 dearer than the out going price of the R.
Wont be selling my R to get one.

Guzzi have previously admitted setting BMW as their benchmark-when the Breva came out, they freely admitted the R1150R was the target, and also with the Norge, the RT is the opposition--they had better up their game, as the Breva has DOUBLE the time to 200km/hr as the R1200R :D

That 1200 Guzzi looks heavy, might be a false impression-looks like they took the Ducati monster flyscreen as "inspiration" as well. just playing catch-up really; as someone mentioned, the MV 910 Brutale is gorgeous, if a little expensive, but check out the Moto Morini "91/2" a more generally useable version of their recently released 1200 Corsaro streetfighter -aimed at the retro Ducati sport/Triumph Bonneville market, but with a hell of a lot more power, serious shunt with over a 100 HP at the rear wheel, a flat torque curve, and 3rd gear power wheelies  You can get a flyscreen, soft luggage and a tankbag, has a real seat, can carry a pillion.....I have only seen a test at the launch in Italy, but sounds a lot more interesting than the old Guzzi lump. And around the same price as the R1200R

Here's the 9 1/2.. ..give me the Griso anyday...it may be slow and not power wheelie in third..in fact I couldn't get it to power wheelie in first.

I must be getting old... :D

Could be ok without the lump of cast iron stuck in the middle
Those things are even more "focussed" (read: very narrow appeal) than the jap litre class superbikes-just another sunny sunday ride.

so many bikes....I'm hopeful that in a couple of years when my mortgage is finally over I'll be able to start a collection of sunny day bikes to sit alongside the old faithful all round workhorses. I won't have to consider practicalities anymore! :D

I know exactly what you mean, Chris-it frustrates me too, sometimes, that you have to consider the practicalities-- I live 160 Km from the nearest town of any note, and 100km from the little town you pass thru on the way to it ! I like taking the pillion in a million along sometimes--theoretically, I should have an RT (or at least an ST :D )-some bikes are just made for it, others will do the job, like the Rock, others, in this situation, you would just end up hating. That 910 Brutale is gorgeous...I suppose my sunny day bike, right now, is my Norton, an 850MK111 Roadster. The Rockster is the "hit the button and go" option. So many bikes, so little time.... :(

Yeah, it's cool the way that Buell took out the aluminum sportster engine, and put in his own de-tuned "Cast Iron Retro-Rattler". And then there is that GIANT exhaust pipe. It looks like 8-inch schedule 80 oilfield pipe! Heck, I'll bet their turn signals don't self-cancel either!

 Does anybody else think the MG1200S looks kinda like a Rockster? Or am I just projecting!

no color sheme ,
and hardly any symetrye
