The ins company called me yesterday with their settlement. I asked them to return to the drawing board and call me back today.

Actually, I did finally find the car I want. The dealership wanted to deal last night, but I told them I needed to eat and sleep and would be back today. So in the meantime, I did my homework: found comps in my favor, checked the car's history, checked the dealership's need to sell, checked to see how long the car had been sitting there, checked to see if they were selling it on the internet as well, and checked KBB - everything I could do to be ready to deal. So I went in with my offer and they still were $3000 above my offer. So............... I walked away. I still want that model of car, but I think I can wait 2-4 weeks until I find one at the price I will pay. If not.............. then I have to believe the gods want me to go for a 911 instead! (jk)

However, there is a car like the one I wanted to buy here, but in Chicago (Naperville) and it is at my price. I would go get it tomorrow or this weekend, if someone will check it out for me! I have a free round trip ticket and the drive home would be a hoot. This dealership tried to sway me the other way with this reasoning "You will waste time though, going all the way to Chicago and then driving it home." I laughed. Yeah, right. Like time matters to me. No time is wasted time if you redeem it while you're in it.

So anyone in Chicago wanna check out a car for me? If it's a sweet car, I'll buy you dinner when I get there.

No way!

Sorry, the Gods just told me "Gypsy needs a 911"

e:mail me the info, I'm about 45 min or so from Naperville with vacation days to burn. Plus I can always run up to Geneva, to TagSport BMW since I'm in the area too!

OU812 - Wanna meet me for Gypsy-Car shopping excursion?

Gypsy, want us to test drive it and really let you know what we think?

The deal is on. I put a deposit down tonight. Just need to work out the details now. Sent you guys a PM. Thanks. I'm pretty flexible on a pick up date, except for Dec 6-9, and maybe Dec 13-16 (that one might be able to be cancelled), or a couple days before/after Xmas. So - obviously a week day for me, if I can't get out of the trip on the 13-16. Thanks. You'll love test driving it!!!!

No. Sadly, I had to pass on the 911 Carrera.

BUT I did get something that rhymes with TEXas!!!! A 2004 SC 430.

It has a 300 hp, 4.3-liter V8 engine which will still be pretty fast.

No, no. It's just 'creative' budgeting.

Gypsy - I am well aware of 'creative' budgeting, I just usually reserve it for motorcycle purchases!
