Jeff,
I am thinking about bringing the truck/trailer so I can pack a shelter for the common site as well as my regular camp gear. Maybe a stove/grill as well.
So I could bring a tent from the exclusive CamFarm's Old Rag collection of gear. Wouldn't you want to sleep in an old rag?

I have a new tent that has kept me dry. I also have the magic gloves. I just need to see how the work schedule falls iinto place.

Paid. And for the most part, locked in.
Now, time to google "hungry mother rain dance". Can we designate site 2 for rain dances? And it BETTER rain - I didn't just pay $40 to ride around on dry roads in southwest Virginia!

We're up to 6 paid in members (thx John) and 2-4 probables (Vann and Mac and ??)...sites filling up with singles...plenty of room for more tents and riders.
Father's Day Special:
Any rider who lives too far away to slab it over for Aug 18-20, I can provide full outfitter services: tent, sleeping pad and bag, food, water, etc and a spare motorcycle w/ some ATGATT. Just show up and get with the gang. (Maybe give us a little heads up - like your airline arrival and location so we can get you to HMSP!)
We'd really like to see some of the others....

Mike,
I'll take site 3, which is what I shared with Boxer last year. It's a large 'deck' that can easily take two tents.
I Want to make everyone aware that with three exceptions, most of these sites have a large wooden platform for the tents. They resemble a 12' x 12' deck (no railings). Like Mike mentioned earlier, nowhere to 'stake' a tent. Last year I improvised, but I am trying to come up with a plan this year. My rain-fly needs staking so I'll probably bring a few of those long deck screws and a screwdriver, for something to attach my rain-fly to. Afterall, it's pretty much guaranteed to rain on this ride.

Confirmed with Va DCR/Parks our reservation for Aug 18-21 at HMSP Loop C.
The guy(s) in the 11th site have not canceled yet. Probably don't know what they are in for with a bunch of hooligan Roadsteristas and Kbaristas showing up to rule the Loop.
Start reviewing the maps and determining what roads you want to take. Probably smaller groups than all together. Time will tell.
PS
Any and all comers....the ten sites we have will realistically hold 20 people (20 tents) and can legally (max permitted occupancy) hold 60 people. 'Course for 60 there'd be cozy quarters! After the 10th paying attendee you'd need to make a side deal with a current site holder as listed above.

Mike, Go ahead and put me down for either 2 or 8. And I don't think JB can come, he's not retired until next year and lives too far south down in that really hot state with no curves or hills.

What are the choices in sites again? I don't really care, just if I get one of the wooden ones I need to bring some nails to stake out the tent!
