JCsman - I sort of feel the same about my '96 Subaru Outback as you do about your truck. With nearly 150K on the clock, it has never given me one minutes trouble, never needed a repair other than routine mantainance, gets me to work everyday, hauls pretty good loads with the seat folded down and is the best snow vehicle I have ever had. The dents and scrapes just add character. I don't mind a reliable beater, as long as I have my bike and my wife has a decent car.

That's true of my Subaru too!

I have a '97 Audi A6 Quattro that I bought used with 42,000 miles, and I have added 100,000 to it with no problems. It always starts; never left me stranded; no problems other than routine maintenance (well, the sunroof needs a new motor but that's in the realm of normal stuff).

My son will be 17 soon, and I expect that he will want to borrow it!

Vann, I used to have a '96 Subaru Outback, but my ex-wife got it and then totalled it. That was a good car.
