Remaining Sites

Sites 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 minus whichever site (1 through 11) the 'other' guys get before us.
Read the first post of this thread - the thread starter- to determine which sites have platforms and which sites have gravel beds. Geez, guys, I'll bring my power screwdriver and a sack of nails for y'all!
I always though that you could use a regular tent stake, drop it through the split of the boards, tighten up your guy line against it and use simple tension to do the trick.

I tried asking around at the suburban camping stores around me as to the best way to 'stake' a tent on the platform. They all gave me a stupid look, like "why would you put your tent on a deck?"
I'll try your suggestion, but my stakes are round and I have a funny feeling they will spin around and let the rope come off. I know, I'm making too big a deal out of this, but we need to be ready for the rain.
On another note, what do we do for check in? Do we all need to go to the main post to check in or just go to the site (for those of us that are familiar with loop c)?

Regarding pitching a tent on one of the wooden platforms: I was on one last year, and it wasn't a problem. I didn't stake the tent at all. I just left enough stuff in it so that it wouldn't blow away.
I always liked that particular picture of my R1150R. When I saw it in John's post, I was ready to buy that Roadster back.

Can I chime in for a site with no platform? I too have one of the Eureka tents with a must-stake rainfly.
I'll even split with somebody, but you aint getting any money, I'm paid up!!

I have lost all memory of which are platformed and which are gravel based. I seem to recall 4 gravel based and 7 platformed...????
Guys, don't freak on this...it will all be fine. Rain on Saturday, torrential, windy, blowing limbs from trees and onto all the tents. Jeff getting his bathtub all soaked. What could possibly go wrong?
But the idea of screw eyes occurs to me. Wait, stop slobering. I said screw eyes not screw eyes out.
Instead of nails, bolts or tension wires maybe a few lag type screw eyes would be a nice contribution to the Park infrastructure. And provide appropriate tie offs for the tents.
Thoughts?

I am bringing a few stout nails and a hammer. A hammer is useful on the packed gravel sites also. Can't push the stakes in with my foot like a nice grass site! So I will be prepared of either type of site and can share as required. Except, I am probably getting in late, so most of you guys will have been set up already.

#4 is gravel, if I recall. I bought a new tent after my first visit to HMSP.
