Frankly, it looked to me like the biggest improvement was in the pillion seat. It's much better padded and much wider than stock.

Dave - I'm sure it's just the angle the photo is taken at - but does the seat slope toward the front? Perhaps a side photo?

Well it feels mosty flat like has been posted here before but to be honest there is a hint of a slope. It actually looks more curvy than it feels. It took wunderlich footpeg lowering to get it 90% perfect for me compared to the high comfort seat.

Dave - thanks. What seat did it replace? Just curious if it was a low seat or standard height and how the height/fit compares... (SWMBO has agreed to it as a birthday present..)

Another minor point not raised yet, due to the more scalloped shape of the low comfort seat there is more of a "sitting in" the seat than "on" . This is OK since you feel more integrated with the bike.
The seat is definately a higher quality looking seat than the stock. It's a slightly darker shade and a better quality covering. The pillion is much thicker and flatter although area is only very slightly larger. Visually, the thicker pillion is not as sleek as the stock so it alters the lines of the bike slightly at the rear. This is no problem with the rack fitted but, given its more chunky look at the rear of the seat, may not look so sleek as the stock on a naked bike.
Finally, on comfort, it is a definate improvement over the stock and worth buying. However, I still got sore with this seat but after a longer period - 4 -6 hours as apposed to 2 hours with the stock seat. This makes for a comfortable days riding but if riding for several days, I would still take the airhawk for some added relief.

I had the standard bench seat. My low comfort seat feels a touch lower than the standard bench. +1 on the feeling part of the bike as opposed to on top of it. Frankly I could have gone either way but I didn't like the "GS" type (balls of feet) feel I got from the high comfort seat but at the same time this seat is slightly more cramped hence the wunderlich pegs. Keep in mind I'm extremely picky and have probably invested WAY too much time and money getting the seat right on an otherwise perfect motorcycle. Oh yeah not trying to embarrass anyone just pointing the way to pictures.

Is there any experience with the comfort for Ms Cute?
Is long distance 2 up riding possible?
The height difference between front and rear is (with respect to comfort) not very promising imo.

Okay, my other half is so so and riding in the first place so no info there. I don't know if this will tell anyone anything but I had a hell of a time finding any info on these seats and this is what happens when you have time on your hands!

The photos make clear that there is a huge height difference between front and rear. Unfortunately it seems irreparable, because of the scorpio like design of the bike.

As my wife is as tall as I am (or short), viz 175 cm, I highly doubt whether she will have a comfortable place, whatever I can do.
It will be the reason why I´ll probably shall not buy an R1200R.

Assuming you mean bicycle shorts - yes, and didn't like them. The padding in the butt made it feel like I had a load in my pants - it was not comfortable at all..

I do use LDComfort shorts for longer rides. They're made for motorcycle use - no padding in the butt, but also no seams to cause chafing.

Yes, I meant Bicycle "Shorts". Missed a key. I started wearing them when dirt biking and have since tried them on the street and they work great. They double the time I can spend in the saddle of the R without discomfort.
