Friday a friend and I deceided to take a ride up to Duluth to do some shopping at Aerostich and then over to Superior to pick up some Amzoil
On the way up my "R" was attacked by a Hawk!! I was riding along doing 60,-65 mph and I seen a sort of shadow low and to my left, and felt a "thud" down on my boot, I looked down and my foot peg, was covered in blood and there were hawk feathers everywhere, I am not sure just what type of hawk it was or if infact it was a hawk, but by the looks of the feathers, and that part of the world being known for its high population of these birds I think it was, After a day of riding and walking I was surprised to find feather still embeded in the seam of my boot at the end of the day,

Not quite so big as a Hawk, but I caught a poor little fella on a holiday in France couple years back:

You're lucky that bird wasn't flying any higher, if it had hit you in the torso or head I can't imagine it would have been very pleasant at all!

That could have been so much worse. I am glad you are not hurt.

I don't have a pic, but last year I had a turkey vulcher hit the right cylinder at about 70mph. Needless to say, he lost.

I hunted a bird as well but it was one of those smart Roman pidgeons well fed by tourists in St Peter's square, and who believe they can outsmart cars and bikes just taking off the road at the last moment. This guy wasn't fast enough, I tried to avoid hitting it but there was a thump and I saw its wings against my forks before it fell dead on the ground. Only later, at night I discovered that the hit had moved my front light a little bit downwards, I adjusted it, no damage at all.
