Dip left or right?

Sometime this summer my UK spec (where we drive on the left and headlights dip to the left) '03 R will be moving to France (where they drive on the right and headlamps dip to the right) on a permanent basis.

For holidays (vacations!) a stick-on converter has done the converting job, but to register the bike in France it needs a permanent fix.

Anyone know what components need changing? I'm assuming the glass (which means the reflector/glass unit) but what about the bulb and its holder?

If anyone has the bits available - please contact me!

I think it's just the different glass...I know mine dips to the right..(my headlight)

Your 03 bike will qualify for an EU WVTA certificate of conformity which you should obtain from BMW UK before you bring the bike over to France. The certificate will allow you to register your bike directly with your local prefecture without having to have any modifications done beforehand. Then you can explore ways of adjusting your lights.

Mine's a French bike, so I can't give you any tips.....

When I replaced a cracked headlight glass last year my headlight pointed into oncoming traffic. (we drive in the left in Australia). I simply removed the glass and refitted it upside down and it seems to point away from oncoming traffic.

Thanks everyone - Rosbif in particular you're the source of good news, I'd forgotten that with no CT there's no physical inspection so the stick on converter should do until I can do a permanent fix. Like check with a French bike breaker once I'm there (and my language skills have inproved a bit... !)
