Hi all:

I got a nice visit from FedEx today who handed me an envelope containing the 5th Edition of the "BMW Motorrad RepROM R Models K2x"

Official Part Number is:

01 79 7 707 276

Nice layout for the R12R information as well as all the other models, plus it has a Metric conversion utility for converting Imperial to Metric and vice versa.

Interesting thing is that it has instructions for a stereo radio setup ! Looks like something else is about to be announced for the R12, though it would be hard to justify replacing my XM in the GPS unit !

From Sierra BMW in Nevada: $135.00 (not including shipping). Expensive, but includes info on a lot of different models, beside the R1200R: R1200GS and GSA, HP2, R1200RT, R900RT, R1200ST, R1200S.

Does it have anything about a connector for the BMW alarm? I'm hoping there is a connector for it so I can use it to wire in a Scorpio SR-i500 and not have to tap into other wires. My DVD won't be in for another week or so!

It works on a G5 Mac using Virtual PC 7 and Windows XP. It does not work under Windows 98. Slow, but usable.

It does not, however, appear to include any wiring diagrams. I expected them to be in there for the $135.

Am I missing something? Are they there but well hidden? Or does BMW figure that mere mortals can't understand the CANbus and are not worthy of the information?

I am going to get the BMW Alarm installation instructions. It only costs $2.15 and I'm hoping it will show the location of the connector.

CD rom sucks !!! (NO wiring diagrams to be found)
They have some nerve selling it for $135
BMW should come look at my $60 .... 632 page Honda ST1300 Service Manual
(could learn a thing or 2)
