I'm planning my first major trip this summer.

So I was wondering, "What tools, devices or comforts you guys bring with you other than the obvious stuff like socks and underwear?"

Just give me one or two things you can't live without on the road.

Oh ya, I'm not staying in any hotels or motels. Unless for some wierd reason I feel the need to.

Hmm, also wondering why there isn't a thread that brings all users of this board to one place. Cause this question is kind of nonspecific of what type of BMW you ride. Like half the question I could ask here. I don't think this really belongs in "off topic". Since it's about motorcycling.
Should make a new thread named "unity thread" or something.

Gulp ... that is nearly 3400 miles return trip (accounting for 1.15 x the actual distance) at 1.6 km to the mile ...

So far I have clocked slightly more than 6500 miles on my bike for the last 18 months riding every working day.

My longest trip would not have been more than 1.5 tank-fulls.

I reckon - duct tape, WD-40, condoms ...

Ride safely.

Chap-stick
Bungee cords
Sunscreen
Patience

iPod
Digital Cameral (with a couple memory sticks) or a couple disposables.
List of BMW dealers along your route (just in case)

50' of Parachute Cord to hang/dry stuff in camp site.

Don't need a passport to cross us/canada border by land for another year. Flying you do now I believe.

GPS!, GPS!, GPS! ...if you don't already have one. These technological marvels will make your your long journey much more relaxing IMO. I'm convinced my life expectancy has increased because of mine! Worth their weight in gold... really!
