BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

New to this message board, but have been reading it for awhile. I have an '03 Rockster. Washed it a week ago and now the oil pressure light will not shut off. It stays on really bright and sometimes dim getting brighter as I accelerate.

Brought it to BMW dealer; oil pressure test o.k.; oil level o.k.; new oil pressure switch installed; still no change.

Anyone ever experience this problemo with their Rockster.

I'm freakin' out.

are the leads around the headstock still cable-tied tightly to the frame?

could be a break in the leads somewhere there.

Otherwise it could be a broken wire somewhere else - but that's what i'd put my money on.

Found a crack in the protective plastic that coats the wire coming out of the oil pressure sensor.

Invested 50cents and bought some electrical tape. Bike is back to normal.

I just know bikes - been riding and tinkering since I was 9 - I learnt the hard way!! (eg, Castrol GTX is NOT the same as pre-mix gasoline.... )
