BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

Hi Guys, just a quick query. My Rockster gets delivered on Saturday , cant wait. Been riding a Honda CBF600 hire bike for 2 months after a crash - had the R850R before.

Anyway, the Rockster I'm getting hasn't been changed ie, the seat is the one that is I believe 835mm. Now, I am 5'6" and am concerned that it might be a bit high. Is anyone else on here about the same height and able to touch the ground and if so, what, is it a toe, ball of foot etc. I had a seat on one about 2 years ago, and am pretty sure I could reach the ground but cant recall how much of my foot touched.

It's just so happen that I am at 5ft6 (with actual inseam of 26" - thanks a lot, Mom, for the short legs). I prefer the standard seat (aka BMW Tall Seat for the R1150R). Sure, I only reach the ground with the ball of one foot, but so what? I can still balance the bike and I especially like the way the tall seat makes me lean forward more and put more weight on the front wheel. Very nice for those tight twisties. The Sargent seat that I have is almost as tall as the Tall Seat (aka standard Rockster seat ) but wider, So I'm tiptoeing even more but for the long hauls you can't beat the Sargent seat.
