:D My wife and I leave on August 4th for a two week trip on the R12R headed to upstate NY to visit her family. I am looking forward to being on the road as always, but also to seeing how this new generation boxer does fully loaded and two-up. Patti really likes the new suspension and says it is a world of difference on the back. I have the factory luggage, but I saw a picture of the new Givi units for this bike somewhere recently and like the looks of them much better. Oh well, impulse buying has a downside too I guess  I have to put on a new set of tires this weekend, but otherwise we are ready to hit the road...figuratively only I hope.

Good luck on your trip! Is it fair to say that the system cases are the only luggage you will be using and that it will hold enough clothes/gear for two weeks? My last girlfriend could barely get her hair and make up supplies in one case let alone her clothes!

Have a nice trip and no mather how good the givi cases look they probably won't work as well as original bmw luggage(stability wise) and the mounting brackets when the cases are off are probably also a lot less pretty.

The key phrase is "my last girlfriend." If she can't pack her stuff in one side case then it's time for another one - girlfriend, that is, not another case.

My friends continue to be in awe of my wife because of her ability to accept the one case for you and one case for me concept. That and many many other aspects make her the perfect gal for me.

I'll 2nd that. my wife always gets by with her one case. When we had a 98 K bike with one large bag and one small bag she DID have the large one but it was just one.
Someone please tell me how to use the "quote" button on these pages.

Mark: click the quote button and you will get the text of the reply frame you are looking at, like above, in a text editor frame. It will show up as it does above. You can either type below the last " [/quote]" marker or before the first one, depending on where you want your comments to appear.

BTW: I have the top case too... that one is community property in Louisiana. Usually this means she get it too ! :D

Same deal in CT! Very funny, but true enough.
Not a problem on my next trip to Nova Scotia for 2 weeks. Going alone on my R1200R, with a friend on his older air head. Should be a hoot.
Ride safe, Hank
