handlebar clamp question

Post by seisouso »

Hey guys, does anyone know if the handlebar clamps on the R1150R are the same specifications and distance from each other as on the R1200GS? I want to buy a Touratech GPS Mount Adapter for the R1200GS and put it on my 04 R1150R but their return policy is rather strict and I'd like to be more certain that the part will fit the clamps before I order it. Anyone happen to know or have both bikes?

Have you checked out Techmount?

I just received one in the mail, but unfortunately, it was not the model I had expected. Anticipating the worst (strict return policy, return postage, etc), I emailed to express my disappointment and figured that I may have to bite the bullet.

The next morning I received a phone call (I dealt directly with the mfr, although they have a lot of resellers) and they wanted to do everything they can to ensure they have a happy customer. They are sending out a replacement along with a prepaid return box, and told me to go ahead and use the one they sent earlier. They did not want me to be without a mount while getting the correct model sent to me.

I am planning to post a writeup about my positive experience (after I get the product, which should be any day now). Good luck on your venture.
