If anyone has a $20 burning a hole in their pocket, now would be a good time to set it afire. We could use some cash for the site. We are about to hit bandwidth critical mass again and I need to increase it. We are currently set at 55gigs a month, which is an extraordinary amount of traffic for a simple message board like this. We are at almost 3400 registered users now (with untold non-registered viewers) with only 20 or so actively renewing members (and a good handful of lifers of course, a really generous few of whom hold multiple lifer status').

It is surprising to me that we have so much traffic here but so few donate. I don’t mean to guilt anyone into donating, but if you do enjoy the site and find value in it, then donating to support it is the right thing to do. We are not wholly supported by a larger entity and have been able to remain ad-free for several years, but every month it gets harder to find the money to keep it going. Asking for money is a task I abhor and usually end up dipping into my own pocket when needed.

So if you can do it, please donate! If we get enough, I'll purchase a new R1200R and send pics to you all. Just kidding. :P

I think I answered my own question after reading the membership section. Some of us are a little slow.

I just paid $40 plus shipping for the Clymer BMW manual; a $20 donation seems pretty inexpensive for the knowledge here.

I browsed here heavily before I bought my first BMW on 9/11; wonderful site, nite folks, so I joined to support.

I've learned a lot here and really appreciate those here who take time to help others out, so my $20 is on the way!

Seriouly, donate. Become a Lifer, I DID! And since moving to the R1150R.net diet I have lost 40 lbs, I'm now taller, I can drop a bike much faster, and I bitch less about &%#$% oil checking ritual we must perform on these bikes. I even think most of my hair has since grown back...including places I didn't want it to...nose clippers anyone?
