8000 granit detecto x-plus wheel lock

Post by Robert_winter_1000 »

Hello all,

I am thinking to use a Wheel lock with alarm (8000 granit detecto x-plus) on my R1150R 02. Anyone has experience with it? Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Regards

I have no idea. But the 8000 granit detecto x-plus is an excellent product name for just about anything, maybe even a rock band.
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

Iowabeakster,
Thank you for your reply. The question if this lock can fit on the R1150R?

I had a similar disc lock with alarm, not the Abus, and had to return it to the shop after a week.
The problem is they have a motion detector that shines a light onto the disc surface and can detect when the disc moves. If you have to move the lock body even slightly to get the key in the lock, the damn thing goes off and deafens you and anyone within about 100 metres
The only way to silence it was to prise open the battery compartment and pull out the battery pack.
Also the pin that the lock operates sometimes used to stick ever so slightly and could only be freed by pushing it with a screwdriver or the bike key, and again if the lock moved.....

But it did fit over the disc no problem :D the 1150 discs are very narrow in diameter.

I replaced it with a non alarmed Abus disc lock which I am very pleased with.
