hello all...

I've been on this site since the R1150 roadster came out in 2001... been riding japanese bikes for 15+ years. been lusting for a BMW since I got my licence at 18... back then it was a K75 in metallic purple! this summer I finally got a 2006 R1150R non-ABS in deep blue metallic. (and sometimes, in the sunlight.... it has a purple tinge to it over the contours of the bodywork!)

I saw the bike still in the crate... last one in Canada.... so i bought it. 8000km now... thats 5000 miles for you imperial folks.

the only mods I did were a Staintune collector box & muffler and a Rhinewest performance chip.

I love the bike. the sound from the Staintune is much nicer than the stock exhuast... more bass.... I like the performance chip too... more grunt down low... smoother fuller throttle.

I love the brakes. these brakes are huge! the telelever front end is amazing. no brake dive !!!!

as for fuel consumption, it seems i can go 300km (186 miles) regularly before the fuel light comes on.

so does anyone here have a deep blue metallic roadster? i havent seen any around, nor did I ever see one in the showrooms...

here are some pics... these were taken from my sony ericson phone (2megapixel camera). please note that i have since removed the "R1150R" stickers from the gas tank... i totally forgot until i looked at these pics...i'll try to post a pic with the stickers removed.
anyways, i hope these links work...

i will import my new one in january, only 4km on the clock.
will fit schnitzer rims 120 front 190 rear, xenon light and mayby performance y-pipe standard muffler.

littke gadgets.

drill some holes in the fuel inlet to get some extra liters ( 3 ) in there.

I like the color, and I too had "i have since removed the "R1150R" stickers" on my Black 02". The stickers don't look so bad on Silver.

stickers removed... not the best shot....
but it definitely looks cleaner... a few people have commented on how much better it looks without the stickers... you see more of the paint.

i'll try to take a closer shot on the tank in better light some day... probably not until spring... looks great in person IMHO...

Very nice looking bike. I notice none of the "non-US" bikes pictured had a charcoal cannister under the right rear fender. Looks nice.
