EZ Pass mounting location/method

In the NY/NJ northeast we have EZ pass. (In some states similar is called fastpass, sunpass, etc.) a device to pay tolls electronically. That said, what are some of the mounting options people are using above and beyond simple velcro supplied with the EZ pass. I dont want to get that gunk on my screen mouning the two plastic velco (sort of) parts. Anyone have pictures or suggestions? FYI I have the lil $210 stock sport shield that most bikes seem to ship with, and all is stock up front there, currently unfarkled. Ideally some method that will allow easy removal as I only need the pass installed when heading out of town which is one in twenty rides for me.

The restrictions you put on make what I did problematical - but it might give you an idea.

On the BMW touring shield mount there is a crossbar right behind the instrument cluster. I painted my EZPass black and used 3 heavy tie-wraps to fasten it (correct side forward) to that crossbar. I did this after loosing one from my tankbag map pocket.

In this position - it just about disappears due to being painted black, and it works fine (same angle as a windshield) and it is theft proof - the windshield in front of it makes access to it about impossible without removing the windshield.

I never take mine off since I have one for each vehicle I own. It's secure, it works and I never have to think about it (an important requirement for me..)

I have it velcroed to the inside front of my tankbag. After wondering how to mount it, I realized I wouldn't be riding where I would need the EZPass (FastToll, etc.) without the tankbag. It has always worked. In VA, at least.

Aerostitch has a holder for EZ Pass that is handlebar mounted.

Haven't used it on the R12R yet, but on other bikes I've Velcro'd it inside the lid on the topcase. Worked fine. The electrons don't know the plastic is there. I'd probably put it inside the left sidecase on the R.
