Very nice!! If I trade in my R for a S this summer, that's the color I want. For dusty AZ, the sorta flat paint is great for easy maintenance and durability. Enjoy.

The K1200s has to me the most comfotable seating position of any sport tourer. Have a great time with your new ride.

Sweet bike! I could probably only afford either the bike or the speeding tickets, so I'll keep the RR.

Nice choice! I'm sure you'll be very happy together... I am "saving up" for one these myself, probably in black.

It's the only thing I've ridden in the last two years which has completely blown me away, whilst still being practical enough to tour or thru town to work - amazing. They are so easy to ride & stunningly fast, I've never 'accidentally' hit 140mph before ...

Loaded, every option installed, taxes in = $22K

On Wednesday last week, a base K1200S was $20K CDN. and the bike I was looking at in the dealership was MSRP $22K with all the Factory options installed (Computer, tyre monitor, alarm, esa).

When I went to the dealership on Saturday morning, I almost passed out...the K1200 S I was drooling over, was listed at $18,400!! What is more amazing the bike was fully loaded: computer, alarm, Tyre monitor, ESA and of course ABS is standard on this bike. BMW had dropped the base price from $20K, to $16.5K. SOLD!! The $22K I stated also includes the System Cases I ordered with the bike, and related hardware.

Yes you're right about that...and I still hope to own a K1200R one day.

The R is a fair bit cheaper than the S and that makes the decision easy.

But if they were the same price (or the money was not such a big issue) I think I would go with the S.

I have an R and an S. I love them both as they are so different. When I ride the R, I miss the S and when I ride the S I miss the R. To date, I have split my time equally between them.

Can I ask if the 1.9% finance offer was ON TOP of that excellent deal?

The real bummer is that in the US they are $14000 MSRP and they have a promotion taking another $3000 off (the K12 Sport). But, we can't buy one there from Canada...someone in the States has to take title first courtesy of BMW!

By the way, watch your licence now!

No, the interest rate of 1.9% only applies to remaining 2006 models, and with my repeat customer discount, I would have paid 1.4% I was thinkiing of buying from the US too, but then the bike would be in MpH, which much like the Fernheit scale, means nothing to me But I have a really good dealer here in Southern Ontario (Open Road BMW, Newmarket). These guys are tops, and treat you like family. I figure that sure I save money now if I buy in the US, but how much in gas will I have to spend to get it fixed, after all the Canadian BMW dealerships drop the Motorrad line because it's eating into the dealerships bottomline. I believe that you get what you pay for, and although the difference in price between the US K12S and CDN, is on the face a $2K difference I think the price is justified. When the difference was $6K I had a problem, but now.... not so much.

I would recomend shopping around, and see if a US bike fits the bill...maybe for you it will, and if you save serious coin, that's brilliant. But, don't be to upset when you have to travel to Buffalo for service.

I understand the the CN$ is worth $1.08 USD? That is the best I have seen it in my life.
