I'm going to order a Sargent. Any comments or reasons I shouldn't?

I like the design better than the Corbin and it weighs much less. A freind has on on his V-Strom and swears by it.

P.S. I'm going balls out and getting a heated one.

I loved mine on my rockster!!! Those bastards haven't yet made one for the K1200R.

I've owned Corbin (on a Ducati) and a Sargent (on my current R). Both quality seats, but I'd judge the Sargent is a bit better on craftsmanship, but way better on comfort. Seat foam material they use "broke in" quicker and just has a little more give to it. I'm a tad on the "stocky" side, so tend to put quite a load on a seat, Sargent has held up really well. So, GO FOR IT!

Yep. That'd be the one. I'm going to get it heated. The Sargent's have a thermostatically controlled seat controlled from the bars. I need that because my boney white arse is still riding when the temperature is low.

I was riding right up until last week when we had our first major snow storm here. You're in Australia. Ever get a chance to ride in the dark when it's 18 deg. F.? I have 4 times this year.



Both sections of the seat are a carbon fiber-like pan and have underseat storage compartments.

I've heard that Corbin's customer service has all but disappeared. Not personally experienced, but I've heard more about problems dealing with Corbin, and nothing about Sargent.

Had a few Corbins over the last 20 years, was a time that they were the seat to have. Got a Sargent off of Ebay for my Rockster shortly after I bought it, much more comfortable than the factory, and the Corbin. The Sargent was initially a tad wider, for the vertically challenged, but it wore in after a bit, and is not noticable as such by now. Also love the little compartement under the Sargent, keep all my bike documentation and spare earplugs and stuff, very convenient.

I really love the corbins on other bikes; but on the RR the sargent is the best for my boney bottom!

i like my sargent. although, i can only compare it to the stocker. it's flatter so i don't get the 'boys' all jammed up into my throat.

I've had a Sargent Worldsport seat on my '04 R almost since new. It was probably the first mod I made after bringing the bike home in March of '03 - the 118 mile ride from the dealer dang near kiled me. Don't recall which came first, the seat or the lowered pegs, but once I had done both I was in love with my new bike.

That seat has taken me on many a high-mile day, often exceeding 500 and 600 miles at a pop. However: after four and a half years and 40,000+ miles, I found I was squirming a lot and couldn't ride 100 miles before I needed to get off. So instead of blowing more on another seat, I contacted Sargent and asked if my seat was warranted. Worth a try, no? Well, of course it wasn't, but they did offer me a good deal on foam renewal. For $50. they re-did the foam on the rider's portion of my seat (they usually charge $70 or 80-something for that service), and I'm happy to report that my seat is as comfy as new again, and high mileage days are again no pain in my butt. Good customer service, I'd say.

The Sargent worked wonders for.......I found out pretty quick that the stock "low" seat was good for exactly 60 minutes of straight riding....
30 mins not too bad
45 min....startin' to ache
50 min...achin' pretty good
60 min...get me the hell off.....

I got mine about 3 k mile ago and after a short breakin period the seat was GREAT.........
I'm glad 'cause when I first got it , the seat felt sorta brick-like on my boney butt....and was concerned that the bike was not gonna do what I needed it to do.....which is commute to work daily, year round ( 50 miles RT) and do multi-hundred mile weekends.......year round
Get it you'll love it!!!!

My Sargent seat is awesome! My butt even felt fine after an Iron Butt ride (1,152 miles) this summer.

I have the Sargent and its great. The Corbin is a little "stiffer" to each their own but I love Sargent seats!
