My '02 ABS has done 95000 trouble free kilometres.

2002 R1150R (Bought it new July 28, 2001)

58,578 Miles (94,272km)

Original front brakepads, 2nd set of rear brakepads.
No problems except for 1 each blown headlight, tailight & license plate lite.

My 1st BMW after 11 Japanese bikes. After experiencing the superior handling TeleLever that makes bumpy curves invisible and brake dive zero, fantastic Non-ABS brakes, an easy to tune/service engine capable of effortless vibrationless high speed fuel frugal cruising, a car type full sized excited field 50Amp alternator that can power everything, toasty heated grips, a dry automotive type clutch, balancing centerstand, single sided ParaLever shaft drive and gorgeous mag wheels (hello! . . .my icon). . . . I will never go back to Jap. They just do NOT offer those things, let alone all in 1 bike !!.

OK, you only asked for the odometer, but I just couldn't help it. Lurkers, newbies and undecideds need to hear the truth after my 6.5 years of ownership.

Rockster 2003, bought 2nd hand Jun06 at 34000km.
Now Dec 07, 57000km or 35418miles.

Yep have had ABS probs , apart from that I have put in one set of Rear brake Pads. The 60k service approaches and it will require something in the Rear Paralever joint I believe due to movement here and a set of SteerHead bearings going by my front black round thing developing a square edge to it. Very happy with the bike, it still looks new. Although I do suffer some anxiety with the ABS system. This is my 2nd Boxer having done about 160,000km on an R80RT which I loved.

04, 25300K

My 03 had 42,000 when I totaled it last month. The 04 I replaced it with has 17,000.

No substantial issues with the 03 -- bought it new.

'03 model...Black...Non-ABS..bought with 677 miles on it in November of '02.

70,738 miles. Original front brake pads. Original shocks. Original starter. Original rider. One oil pressure sender unit expired. Tag light burned out once. Rear turn signal lens cracked...NO! Wait a minute..I caused that when I bumped into it walking too close to the Dominatrix's rear end.

2004 R 16,211 miles.... just a pup

I am ashamed, as my 04 had only 9500 miles when she was taken from me last Sunday. Not really taken, just picked up by the new owner from Saskatchewan.

You had 70k on your front pads? That's incredible. I replaced mine at 32K and the rears twice in the time I had it. I must be hard on brakes.

What's your secret?

Purchased my black '04 in March 2006 with 6975 miles. Currently 47638 miles. Original front brake pads, replaced the rear ones at 14000. My first BMW after a string of Japanese. While there was a learning curve, I think it is the most versatile, comfortable bike I have ever owned. Love that telelever!

Two rear flat tires, original battery and original brake pads as far as I can tell.
This is my second street bike and seems to be hard pressed to find anything I would like better.

2003 R1150R: 17,500

I would have more but I just bought it a few months ago, and since then I have had a problem with the spark plug wires coming loose, and then I had a huge nail puncture the almost brand new Metzeler. As soon as Christmas is over and I again have a little spending cash, a new tire is going on and the miles will hopefully shoot up.

Wayne-Every time I have had the tires off for a tire changeout or other maintenance, I check the pads. The rear ones get changed out pretty often: about every 15 to 20K miles (I'd have to check my book)
Each time I have to order new pads for the rear, I purposely make an additional check of the front pads' thickness. I don't know what they're made of, but they are still not worn down. I even bought a new set to install this past year, but they still aren't needed.
I've noticed recently a slight 2 phase pulsing when I brake with the front brakes. This may be a caliper problem...or a call for bleeding...or the pads may be worh different on each side. In any case, next month I do my annual brake bleed procedure and will attempt to isolate that problem as well as install the new pads, whether it needs them or not. :-)

Had my fair shair of issues but then I ride them reasonably hard.

My Rockster is closing in on 34,000 miles. Bought new in April of '05.

Purchased new in "02" 32,000 trouble free,but oil using miles (about 1qt per 1000 mi) A great MC I would buy it again even with the oil use Den

"04 Rockster, non ABS, bought used July '05 w/1800 miles. Now has 17,994. Replaced rear shock w/Ohlins.
Shock damping started to fade pretty badly while sport touring two up in the mountains.

My first BMW, I really like it. It seems to do everything well.
