I seem to recall someone trying the VarioScreen here - and not being totally satified with it.
Any experience with it would be useful info since I'm thinking of giving it a try (vs my 3 different height Cee-Bailey screens..)
TIA!

Re: MRA/Wunderlich VarioScreen
Don - I bought one, used it about a week and sold it. I didn't like the upright position of the screen. Also, I felt that there was just too much helmet buffeting regardless of the position of the screen. I recently bought and installed a Ztechnik screen like in the pictures Joe (Chi town) has posted. I like the looks of it much better. I am still getting some buffeting. I am first going to try a deflector which attaches to the top of the screen. If that doesn't improve things I will start cutting the screen down about an inch at a time until the buffeting is eliminated. I did this with my R1150GS and eventuall wound up with, what to me was, a perfect shield. It had good body protection but my helmet was completely in clean air and thus fairly quiet.

Re: MRA/Wunderlich VarioScreen
Thanks for the feedback. In the Wunderlich catalog - it does appear upright, and also appears that the bottom edge is actually a bit forwards of the headlight. The Wunderlich mounting instructions mention a few things perhaps you can comment on:
- It mentions the screen can be tilted besides changed in height. It appears it mounts with two rods that go to the top mounting screw/bolts for the standard headlight bracket assembly. The photo in the install page shows this being able to be tilted to adjust the angle. Any comment?
- The install shows the front turn signals being moved outwards with a flat sort of angle bracket. Was this necessary? It looks hokey to me. I would think the longer turnsignal stalk would obviate the need for this.. but dunno, photos aren't super clear.
- And your height? And inseam? These are sort of the critical thing for almost any shield. How high your head is above the seat changes how the screen will work for you. I'm short and have an even shorter inseam (5'7-8" and 27" on a tall day..)
- Nowhere in the writeups I can find do they give a height for the top (lowered and extended) measured from the top of the headlight. The photos show it being what appears quite tall all the way up, but hard to tell since in the photos the bike also has Wunderlich rear-view mirrors, so that reference point doesn't work... do you happen to recall how tall the shield actually is (from the headlight up..)?
Thanks! I knew someone here had some experience with it. Is the person you sold it to a member here?

Re: MRA/Wunderlich VarioScreen
One other question.. which may seem a tad odd..
Does it seem possible that the VarioScreen could be used with the BMW touring screen bracket (4 point hole mount)? To me - that would make it much more enticing.. (since I now have my GPS mounted to the touring screen bracket..) I realize I'd have to drill the mounting holes in the VarioScreen..
