Help guys!

Post by marousek »

Hey guys. I have a 2004 Rockster and just got shafted.....literally. A few days ago I hit a nice size hole in the road and bent the hell out of the front wheel. There is not a one replacement wheel in the entire country for the rock, but 1150r front wheel will fit, it will just not match. I checked beemerboneyard.com, but as always, nothing there or sold. Does any of you guys know of a r1150r front wheel in any color around so I can get riding? TO get one from Germany will take months I found out!!

Anyone?

Did you try eBay? I see them on there once in a while.

So far no luck on e-bay. Few K1200LT wheel that look same, but LT has ABS and I am seeing those wheels might be different a bit......Then an K1200RS wheel...again, looks same, but not sure if it will fit since I think that's an ABS wheel too.....this sucks!!!

Have you thought about aftermarket wheels?

I have seen pictures of some, but never payed much attention. I bet they are pretty pricey.
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

BMW wheels are soft, so they get bent easily, but the good news is that they can
get bent back easily. Unlike Ducati wheels some of which are brittle.

http://www.framestraightsystem.com/ These guys just straightened out my
front wheel and it looks perfect. You will need to wait and the bill including
round trip to Tennesee will run 200. Way cheaper than new. Go to their
site and see what they can do, its amazing. Ron tells me that they have fixed 100's
of BMW wheels many for dealers and have never had one complaint.

The wheels are the same, whether or not the bike has ABS :)

Do you think the K1200LT wheels on ebay will fit? They look all exactly same as the 1150r's......There is one ending in 2 hours......and for a reasonable price.....

It would appear that the R1100S, K1200LT and rockster/roadster all share the same front wheel size. That being said, you may want to double check with a local shop.
