Big Hello to everyone from Savannah, GA.

My name is Josh, 36, married (Shana), 4 Kids (Abigail, Josh Jr, Noah, Samuel), 1 dog, and finally a 2004 rockster. This is my third beemer in 20 years riding two wheels with the first two being a R80/7 and R1100R. I have been a huge fan of the 1150 since its release and have been lurking here on a regular basis. Now, I get to come out of the garage and play as I was finally able to get the scratch together for the new-to-me rockster earlier this year. So far it has been all I wanted it to be and the list of accessories has already started. Daytona and Myrtle Beach bike weeks have been regular trips for me over the years and it was nice to take the Rockster this time. I love the abiltiy to go from the highway to the "backway" to the highway at will and have a blast doing it.

Hey, nice looking bike, too bad you opted for the slower bonze color though. My lime green is my 5th and last BMW as far as I am concerned, love it. A question, I always heard that Savannah was a beautiful town, my wife wants to tourist after we drop the daughter off in Fla. for school. Is it worth seeing? Last year went to Charlestown, S.C. on the way back to Pa. and enjoyed very much, oh, and she wants to go to a " plantation", any nearby?

If the non Citrus Rockster is actually called "tiger stripe", what should we call the "citrus stripe" Rocksters? Not sure of the proper nomenclature of these things, as my Rock is the only one in this area, and upon first sight of it, my wife said, "that is the most beautiful bike I have ever seen, you need to buy it". That is the only time in 24 years of marriage she ever told me that, and I doubt that lightning will strike twice, so I was forced to buy it. Pretty happy with it, not sure if its the bike, or the crack talking.

Welcome aboard and theTiger Stripes are by far the best and don't let anyone tell you different.

May I suggest you loose the can and put a car tip on. A much better sound. You may want to consider hand guards, makes a big differernce, well it does in the UK !!

Welcome aboard....nice looking bike. Check out the Aussie valve cover paint on this forum, that and a DJ canerectomy will make that steed HOT!!!!!! Enjoy it.

HA...the only time I was passed by a citrus rockster was when I forget my tinted shield and lost sight of the road from the glare..

Kidding aside, its nice to have the support of our better halves when it comes to the purchase of a new bike. We both got lucky there.
Savannh is a great town. If you come, pick any place downtown and go for the horse drawn carriage tour. The history is amazing. Savannah was one of only a few major cities that were not burned by the Union army as it marched South. Apparently the yanks were upset when we burned DC and you know what they say about pay back. Well, the Army had just razed Charleston, SC the week before, but the Union Army General said he couldn't burn Savannah when he saw it because it was just to pretty. So we have more colonial history than most and it makes for a really nice visit. I don't know of any Plantations in the area but I am sure there would have to be some close by.

Yeah, the can is already gone and stuffed in a box somewhere. I do enjoy a little volume from the bike and now the rear wheel really stands out. No handguards as of yet but its on the short list of things to do.

Hey hey...it was January. Happy to let you know that it is now GREEN GREEN GREEN. Now while that is great for the lawn, I wouldn't want that color on a BIKE. Wait a minute...that seems familar... Can you help me out Rockstercliff?

Thanks. I did check out the valve cover paint job and it looks really nice. I have done a little paint work already on mine as well. I like all the colors on the bike except for the rear rack and headlight stays. They are silver and stand out way to much on the flat black/orange bike. I pulled everything off, ruffed it up a bit, cleaned it, and gave it the old Krylon touch. I was concerned about it peeling and the paint salesmen provided a really nice can that was "formulated" to bond to plastic. Its been about 6 weeks now and (don't laugh) but everytime I walk by the bike I will tap or flex the newly painted sections with what ever I have in my hand (keys, screwdriver, Kids toys, kids) to see if it will chip or peel. So far so good and I really like the way it matched up.

Thanks for the idea on painting the rear rack, may work on it this week as I am home painting old lawn furniture that was recently sandblasted. Will definately be in Savannah in August, after going down to take the daughter unit back to school in Florida. If you think of it, PM me a short list of your favorite local eateries, especially somewhere to get the best pork ribs.
