Tiny hairline cracks in headlight outer lens

The other day while washing the bike shortly after getting it back from the agents who did recalls etc I saw what at first I thought were scratches on the headlamp lens at which point I had a great urge to get my hands around somebodys neck at the agents thinking thta some idiot had wiped the headlamp with a cloth full of grit. However on closer inspection I found that they were in fact tiny hairline cracks the longest maybe 10mm and the shortest about 3mm. If you press gently with a finger next to the longer one's you can actually see movement between the two halves so to speak. Any contacted agents who asked for photos to be emailed (done) and they will put it in for a warranty claim so we shall see what happens - anybody else have this problem?

I had the same problem after only several thousand miles. I put a head light cover bought from an Austrailian company on it and have had no more worries. I have a picture of it I can post if you'de like. In fact I think I have already I just don't remember where.

Check out "Headlight Protector" in the R1200R zone. I bumped an old posting up so you could see the picture at least from the side.

This can also be caused by stress in the mounting area and I have read about this before on german forums. You must try to get it replaced under warrenty if it ar just cracks and not something caused by stones or whatever.
