I had one that worked on the same basic principle a number of years ago
and it worked very well. Operated it with my throttle hand thumb.

At least it's inexpensive enough to maybe try out.

The link you posted just takes one to the vendor's home page. Not sure which cruise unit you're looking at. I see Throttlemeister and some others.

I use a simple rubber o-ring that fits over the bar end weight and I simply roll it one time and it moves up against the end of the rubber grip. It generates just enough friction to hold the throttle wherever you have it.

I recently bought one of these. http://www.crampbuster.com Works great in terms of keeping my throttle hand from fatiguing. My hand used to cramp-up within 50 miles or so. Went to visit my daughter in college over the weekend. Rode 120-140 miles at a time, and my throttle hand was fine. But now I've got to do something about my a$$. It's become the limiting factor.

I tell you, with 76,000 miles of riding this bike, I have seldom used that Throttlemeister. The "Throttlerocker" or "Crampbuster", or whtever they call it this week, is by far the best add-on part I have ever invested in. And it only cost me $10.

The Throttlemeister does come in handy sometimes under very specific conditions, but I think I could live without it. I could not live without the "Crampbuster"!

My 2002 bike ,which is standard AFAIK, only needs my hand to be rested on the grip to hold a steady velocity. The wind pushes my hand down slightly so no effort needed at speed.
Now the clutch I do find heavy and a pain in the carpals after a few changes.

I'm with Wayne on the O-Ring (Caterpillar). It even holds the throttle during a rain shower.

I use the throttle rocker and DJ's mod...a black hair elastic. Works great. I have a throttle meister and don't even use it.

I am of the o-ring camp. I buy them cheap at Home Depot or Lowes. I only put about 1/2 of the o-ring in the gap, which provides enough friction for me to adjust the faceshield or scratch then it will slowly roll off throttle. I put the handguards on for the winter Saturday and forgot to put the o-ring back in the gap - I had forgotten how strong the throttle return was! Felt like I was going over the bars when I took my hand off!

Some obviously like the Crampbuster. I thought it a waste of money. Seems it is never at the angle I need and was awkward. Lasted one ride and is now in a box somewhere in the basement.

Amazed to hear about this. In no way can my throttle return spring be described as strong. Works fine for me every time and very little effort required to hold throttle open.Indeed the weight of my gloved hand provides enough friction.Perhaps I just have sticky fingers!

+1 on the crampbuster. I never ride without it. The angle is easily adjusted as it rotates clockwise. I also bought one for the laft side as it offers an additional support for my left arm as well.

I was thinking of doing something like this. Glad to see someone else post on it. Logic tells me to get one that is fat enough to stay on top and just provide friction between the grip and end weight and not get caught in between.

Wayne, do you have any details?

Once again, Cheap Chuck must go with the cat ring. Works great and cheap. Cruise control ala cheap.
