Fitting a hugger on the 12R has obvious advantages from a protecting the underside and cleaning perspective. On the other hand, fitting aftermarket accessories doesn't always enhance the look of a bike.

Since I have no bikes to look at in the flesh where I live, I would appreciate any photos of 12R's fitted with huggers plus opinions on the subject.

My riding is in UK, expect to cover approx 5000 miles per year in mainly fine weather (hence the need to purchase is a little marginal)

+1 on the Nippy Norman Hugger. Took about 10 days to get here and was very easy to put on. A little thin on the fiberglass and I noticed a small hairline crack probably caused by shipping, but you can't see it unless you get your nose down and look at it closely.

I also have the Nippy Normans hugger. The paint job on it is not very good and is showing signs of dulling and micro scratches. I decided to have it painted as soon as I took it out of the box but I was impatient and just mounted it on the bike.

Nippy Norman's looks OK. Carbon fibre a bit pricey so gone for the fibre glass option.

The shock is an Ohlin. The bike is an 07, it still looks pretty much the same but those pics are a year old maybe. I even ride it once in a while.

I am also wanting to get one of Nippy Normans Rear Huggers for my R12R. The only question I still have is about the ESA. Nippy's site says that it is a little tricky if you have ESA.

Has anyone here fitted this to a bike with ESA?
If so, was it any more difficult or did it cause any problems?

You guys in the UK and colder parts of the US must have one hell of a time in winter with all the sludge on the roads. The salt must make a mess too.
We are just coming out of a drought in my part of the world (Sydney, Australia) and I am going crazy with the number of wet days here. We go for years without rain and although it's terrible for the farmers it is fantastic for bike riders. Now it seems like every second day is wet.
I have the luxury of not having to ride if it is wet, but all the same, I hate this weather.

Rain is no fun on a bike, in any country. Have found a good fun solution to the winter months in the UK though- My road bike stays in the garage and I ride my KTM off road. 2 wheel fun can continue, it's a good work and you stay warm. Plus, ....well we all love playing around in mud don't we?

Nippy Norman's for me too. Cut off my shock protector so I can see the shock in there. Fender works great keeping the muck out and it adds to the looks of the bike.

I don't, but I ordered on the Nippy Normans website, used my US dollar credit card, and it came just as if I had ordered from a US company. The bank converted the currency and they filled the order. No problem.

I also ordered crash bars for my F800GS from another UK company, same thing, they shipped right away and there were no issues.

Did you need to remove the rear wheel to fit the bracket or the hugger itself?
