This is such an easy mod that everyone on an F800ST and maybe S model too can do it. It was my first modification on day 2 of ownership. Move the weather proof dealer diagnostic hookup plug to someplace within reach of it's wire connection where it'll be out of the way. The dealer still has easy access to it after tilting it up-n-out.
Moving it frees up additional space in the small side pocket just rearward of the fuel cap, it's old location. This is an easy, no tools operation that looks so right I wonder why BMW doesn't do it.
While I was at it I sealed and added strain relief to the wires emanating from the fuel pump connectors with high strength hot glue.
