Does anyone have on their bike a Cee Bailey's 14" Sportscreen? The CB site does not appear to have a pic of it....if you have a pic, or any feedback on how you like it, let me know!! I currently have a orig. BMW Touring Screen on my 2004 R1150r and would like to switch off to something smaller in warmer weather.....thanks!!!

I really love my sport screen. It looks better than my BMW touring screen and less buffeting in the wind. I still use my touring screen when I'm travelling long distance with gear (e.g. low and slow) as it keeps more air off my body but slower speeds makes the head buffeting more manageable. Both screens use the same mounting hardware - switching out is a 10 min job.

Looks great. Curious why you would prefer the darker version? I have the dark BMW sport screen and thought I'd prefer the clear...maybe it's a case of the grass being greener on the other side!

I always wanted to try out the Cee Bailey's sport screen. It looks almost perfect for my long distance rides. Local rides require the Fly screen.

I have the dark BMW sport screen and the reason you buy the dark tinted screen is because it's extremely cool looking. No other reason. I'm possibly going to buy the Cee Bailys touring screen and it will be the darkest tint they sell. I haven't ordered the thing because I can't get a answer about the height of the thing. I need the measured distance from the upper mount to the top of the 19 and 21" Euro cut shields. I am hoping the CB screen will cut down the noise and turbulance I get with the BMW touring shield.

Does anyone have some pictures of the 19.5" of 21.5" Cee Bailey screen installed on there bike they can post? Also, how do you like it?

Thanks for the pics and the input!! I will probably order the Cee Baileys soon Does anyone know the part#s for the well nuts and the rubber washers for the mounting brackets? I would like to get a 2nd set as mine are getting old...

Hey Northbeach, my windshield from Cee Bailey's included a new set of mounting hardware with all the screws, cover washers, rubber grommets, etc. and they look exactly like the BMW set I had on my bike. I replaced them as the new set looked better.

Hmmm... the Cee Baileys uses the same mounting hardware as the BMW touring screen. That's is interesting to me. I have the BMW touring screen, and like it.

But... Lost one of the mounting screws and associated rubber grommet/ vibration isolation mounting expansion nut piece that extends from the mounting arm through the windscreen. A machine screw, a fancy expansion grommet, right? Dumb on my part to lose it, but I didn't think I would be facing a big deal.

Have done a bit of research, and the best information I have right now is that it is necessary to replace the whole "mounting kit" (four arms, four "mount to the bike" screws, and four of the above mentioned grommets with expansion nuts that mount the screen to the arm) in order to get the single screw and grommet I need. To the tune of about $150 bucks, I think.

At this point, unless somebody teaches me other wise (here's hoping!), I am starting to research alternatives such as machine shops for replication and other bikes with similiar set ups (I right now have a good, but not beautiful, solution off a Ducati (I think), but I'd love for it all to match).

Anybody know if Cee Baileys has hardware I could order that would work well with a BMW touring screen? Or even does Cee Baileys hardware work with the BMW screen hardware at the screen side? I can do my own sleuthing after that!

We can save you some money I think. The rubber grommet you're needing is called a "well nut" 2 of mine were worn out a while back and one of the guys here pointed me to Home Depot where they are like $.91 each. The screw can also be found there I expect. Take one of the other screws with you. They have thread gages to determine size and thread, then rummage through their bins until you find what you need. That washer may take a little looking. The dealer could supply that probably if need be. The reason you don't go to the dealer for the well nuts is that they charge too much for them, and Home depot is closer for me. If you want though, you can send me the $145 I saved you.

Thought there was probably a magic bullet out there!

I did "reverse engineer" a solution out of the hardware bins, but was not, as of yet, sucessful in finding anything that matched the "fit and finish" of the BMW solution. However, your addition of the term "well nut" into my vocabulary seems to be a huge leap forward. The machine screws were easy. A washer that fits the look of the BMW stock parts may still require a machine shop, but I'm cool with that (I have friends!).

Now I just have to go to one of those huge awful box stores, but I think I can also do that.

Happy to help you Kyle. I have not checked, but the dealer probably sells that washer. You can't tell about BMW hardware. I bought a replacement allen screw for the rear brake a while back and they were quite reasonable, You don't know though. The BMW parts guy may leer evilly across the counter and name an unthinkable price. That's what they did when I asked about an exhaust clamp.
