for thos in the market or for anyone expressing all around interest in aftermarket warranties i have just experienced a very good event with contego direct. for those not familiar, contego direct is featured on the BMWMOA website and also in various issues of The MOA periodical they send out. now they're not endorsed by BMW or the MOA in anyway, they just advertise on there, but they really pulled thru for me.

recently, the dreaded quick disconnects on my bike failed and began leaking fuel like mad. i bought the CD policy back in sept when i bought the bike, and the rep at the BMW dealer here reassured me that there was a good chance that the aftermarket warranty would not cover the QD's. he said he'd never seen it done, and that the warranty they actually sell doesn't cover them eitheir. i took it anyways and decided to give it a shot, i mean i'm paying for the warranty so might as well attempt it right. low and behold contego covered it all minus my 50 dollar deductible. work got authorized and done, and BMW dealer gets paid via credit card over the phone. simple, easy, and fast.

so to anyone considering contego direct, i'm another pleased customer. and yay! no more fuel leak!!!

Did the warranty company pay for oem replacements or were you able to get something that will actually last?

i'm quite positive they're OEM, but for now i'm satisfied with that being that i only had to pay the 50 dollar ded to cover it. i've only had the bike about 3 months so far and haven't really dug into yet, but perhaps within the next year i'll get the upgraded one and throw those on.
