Almost sold my beloved R1200R

I bought a Ducati Streetfighter, and love it for what it does. I thought I couldn't justify owning two great bikes until I rode 280 mile on the Ducati (100 of it on the track) by the end of the day I was nackered. Need a long bath and 3 aspirin. I've put 400 miles in a day on my R and felt wonderful. Moral of my story is each tool has its place, and if I have a long road ahead make sure I'm on my beemer.

Nice looking bike Josh...Got to be a keeper.

I spent hours cleaning mine on Sunday but it rained yesterday and snowed today. Looks worse for wear again already.

Nothing like washing your bike to guarantee bad weather.

I was at the Ducati factory in Bologna and the tour guide, at one point, stopped the group and wistfully looked up saying, "I don't own a Ducati right now, but I think i might get the new Streetfighter, but it is a big decision." She was obviously smitten.

I have a Ducati Multistrada, and a R1200R, would'nt part with either one.

Beautiful Ducati. I, myself, have my eye on a mistress in the form of a MV Agusta Brutale. I totally understand your point about each bike having it's purpose. For a romp around town or hours down the highway, I love the R for what it is.

A little off topic, but I love the lids you have on your system cases. Care to share some info on them? Any additional pictures?

I got the city lids from my mechanic, he had customer who brought them in from Europe and then didn't want them. I think I saw a thread about city lids here.

Thanks for posting them up. I'll start a search for the thread that you might have saw. I'd be interested in learning more.

I washed my RR on Superbowl Sunday and it proceeded to snow in south Louisiana. Yikes ! Hell really did freeze over, and flying pigs have been reported

That is a beautiful bike . A beautiful sense of style in the way you set it up. Good for you. What kind of fairing is that?
Also a very lustworthy Ducati. My oh my.

So does this mean the f/S ad over on ADV Rider on the flea market is not valid?

The only offer I got was for a few of the parts. I will delete the add there when I figure out how. For now she stays with me.
