I have been reading a lot on this site and thanks to everyone for posting.
I am going this weekend to look at a 2004 r1150r rockster. It has stock bags. And only 7k miles.
Owner has just put new tires on it and had 6k service done.
Is there anything specific I should look for before making the purchase.
Thanks,
Ralph

Bike is so new - in terms of vintage & accrued miles - it's probably only the obvious signs of crash or abuse that you'd look for. Hopefully you're in a locale that allows you to take a test ride.
If the 6k mile service paperwork is available (with clean bill of health), then you've got some good info for purchasing decision.

The only thing I'd be wary of is corrosion from overcleaning. when I bought my bike the rear wheel hub was badly corroded, despite only being 2 years and 1,200 miles (yes, One Thousand, Two Hundred miles in 2 years....

) old. The original owner had obviously made a habit of cleaning the bike and putting it away wet. The rear hub can collect water because of the hole in the middle of the wheel. Similarly the disc mounting bolts can surface corrode badly.
ACF-50 is your friend.

Thanks for the help. I am now the owner of a 2004 Rockster. The 200 mile ride home was great. The bike is great.
Thanks again.

So I have been going over my new toy. Are these the stock disconnects? One side seems to be metal. Previous owner say he just had them changed not too long ago.

It looks like metal....the stock ones were plastic....you should be good to go.

6k, Just a update, I have put about 2k mile on the bike so far, it is great. The misses likes it too, but wants a back rest so looking at a trunk box of some sort.
