The Saddlemen Gel pad is quite good. They give you a strap with velcro on it that attaches to the seat. Then you lay the pad on it.

The pad warms up nicely when left in the sun and is a big improvement over the stock seat. If you are worried about someone thieving it, just throw it into a saddlebag.

Your butt will thank you for it!

I'm considering anything. I learned not long ago that my butt is no match for 300+ mile days.

I've read good things about the gel pads. Butt comfort is highly subjective...here is my experience.

I first tried an Alaska Leather sheepskin pad. It was a significant improvement.

The real solution for me was an aftermarket seat. I can ride all day now. Strangely, I found the pad WITH the aftermarket seat was WORSE than just the stock seat. The sheepskin pad now is attached to a stool that I sit on while working on the bike.

The aftermarket seat is much harder than the stock seat. I found that softer (more padding) is not necessarily more comfortable. I think it has more to do with the shape of the seat and how the weight is distributed.

Good luck on finding a solution that works for you.

I have already a set of aftermarket Sargent front and rear seats. They are significantly better than stock I will agree but I approach 300 lbs and occasionally step over it so my ass is doing a lot of work.

I can't help but interject, but have you thought what the poor Sargent seat would say as you throw your leg over the bike......Oh, my God here comes that big pointy bottom.....OUCH.....OUCH....I'm hurting. I don't think any type of padding will help you my friend. [-o< [-o<

I have a ROHO Airhawk Comfort System inflation seat I'll sell for a good price. It really smooths out all the pressure points and can be adjusted to your preferred fit. PM me if interested.

I have an Airhawk and really like it. Do not overinflate.
