My apologies if this has already been dealt with. I am new to the forum and only just took possession of my 03 R1150 Rockster .

As expected the paint system on my forks and rocker covers is shot . I want to repair it and am looking at Color Hard Anodizing rather than painting them.
Does anyone have experience of doing this and how successful was the outcome. My thoughts are it would be a good permanent fix.

cheers

Anodizing and or Powder Coating are both good durable soutions, albeit at increased cost. If you decide to re-paint the BMW standard wheel paint is a good choice and less expensive.

The rocker cover paint on my 03 Rock was beginning to bubble off so I had them powder coated Black, and now she's truly trick, fast and sexy lookin ! The guy who did the work could not belive how thick the paint was and how rough the magnesium castings were. They almost looked like they were dipped in really viscous paint before machining. With my good guy discount bead blasting and powder coating only cost $40, seems like a deal to me.

You need to spread that "good guy discount" that is really a good deal for the blasting and powder coating.
