ECU is under the fuel tank.
What chip do you plan to use? Any other performance modifications in mind?

I don't think changing the chip will stop the popping on deceleration.
I have a rhinewest performance chip installed.... and when I did have a y-piece installed, it popped on decel.
put the cat back on, and the popping is gone. as a few others on this board have noted, the popping is always there, no matter what you do to the exhaust system or ECU chip... you just dont hear the popping with the cat installed because it muffles it.

Suggest you forget about the chip for now and make sure of the following:
1) The exhaust pipe to Y pipe joints are sealed well
2) The TB's are in sync
That should minimize the poping
Historically, aftermarket chips don't do much for the R259 engines, unless they are part of the exhaust package.
Good luck

thanks, checked the y pipe joints they have some kind of sealant around them silicone i think. hmm the tbs bought a twinmax to do the job but some how made it worse think i'll put it back to the original setup if i can find the piece of paper i wrote down the screw turns on and get someone who knows what they are doing to do it, how about a power commader do you think that would help

you can also check to see if there are any experienced posters close to you that can lend a handneed. No, at this stage you don't need a PC.
Good luck
