Not enough capability yet to be a traveling bike, but definitely getting better:
Electric motorcycle affordably reaches 100mph, 100 miles per charge -- Brammo's Empulse electric motorcycle has some advanced EV capabilities, but it should still impress gearheads.

Re: Brammo Empulse
If you went to the MotoGP at Laguna Seca, you would have witnessed a 10 lap "E" race, with the electric race bikes whizzing down the front straight at 125mph making basically wind noise. It was eerie seeing them come over the corkscrew with no warning noise at all... they're heeeeerrreee....

Re: Brammo Empulse
I can't say that they're here yet... but definitely getting closer.
The 100 mile bike weighs in at 420 pounds...59 ft/lbs torque...nice suspension and brakes...14K price tag.
...definitely getting closer.
For me to consider it, I need a 200 mile range and a ten minute recharge. I'm sooooo demanding. My riding is 99% open road highways. The 1% that isn't highway is in-town riding that I can't avoid.

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...
