Give me the boot/s - please

I have struggled to find the right road boot with a balance between safety and comfort/perfromance. I recenlty bought a pair of Setup boots (by SIDI) and ended up selling them after a few rides. Did not like them -- you can't really feel the shifter. Call me crazy but I like to feel the shifter over my toes. Any great recommendations ?

Triumph Explorer II boots.
Totally Waterproof, Totally Comfortable. Reasonably Priced.

I have a pair of SIDI Canyons that are FULLY waterproof, provide great protection and comfortable. Roughly US$300. Have a pair of mid-calf Gaerne boots I will sell you ... email/PM if interested.

Most comfortable mototouring boots I've ever worn are older version of Oxtar (now known as TCX) Jupiter. Have not yet worn the current TCX Jupiter 2, but would make daring assumption that neither the comfort nor protection of the originals has been compromised.

Once I bought a pair of Daytona Road Stars I found it impossible to wear other boots. Extremely well made, protective and slipper comfortable. Yes, they are expensive, but I save a few $$ and order from Biker-land in Germany. Helimot in the U.S. also sells Daytonas.

That is my say. Spend a little more money for your shoes and in return you get a fine pair of Daytonas which will stay with you for a long time. I have 2 different Daytonas, the "Spirit XCR" for summer and the "Roadstar GTX" for the rest of the year. Once you have tried them you never want anything else ...
BTW I have no shares in Daytona. I am just sharing my experience.

I had a pair of Sidi On-Roads that were extremely comfortable and stayed waterproof until late in their rather long service life.
However, they had little protection other than the leather. I went with a pair of TCX (formerly Oxtar) Infinities, a hydrid dual sport boot and road boot. Comfort is not the same as the On Roads but protection is far better. However, it seems they are losing their waterproof abilities after less than 2 years.
If you are willing to forgo the extra protection, the On Roads are a great boot. Me, I am back to shopping for the next pair already!
