Can anyone tell me where to find a used left cylinder blue magnesium cover? I looked on ebay and look on Beemerboneyard to no avail. I do not want to buy new. I also need a left plastic engine guard....I still can not believe I drop this bike again!!!
Thanks!

You'll just have to be patient. That's the trade off when searching for a particular used part. If you want that right now, call your dealer.
Email beemerboneyard that you're looking for a cylinder head cover - you'll then get word if/when one comes in. Another possible source would be the marketplace at ibmwr.org (internet bmw riders). For now, you're stuck waiting. Good luck.

This topic made me curious. From MAX BMW fiche:
01 11127672587 CYLINDER HEAD COVER DOUBLE-IGNITION,LEFT - FERRO 1.57 1 $176.88
01 11127672588 CYLINDER HEAD COVER DOUBLE-IGNITION,RIG. - FERRO 1.57 1 $168.92
That's relatively cheap for a new BMW part. You'll be waiting a while for a good unblemished used item... perhaps a new replacement?
Time is money.

They have to turn a right-side cover inside out.

First thought was BMW revenue generation, as probably of left-side tipovers is greater due to the side stand lean.
But on second thought, the left side valve cover includes the oil fill port, which requires additional machining...

Hi there,
I managed to damage both ears left & right, by performing 1 highsider.
And of course no head protection on cilinder heads mounted..
Found both left & right 2nd hand hats, in perfect condition and good price, at siebenrock in Germany.
Maybe give them a call.
Good luck!

Yes, Germany is a good source for used parts. If the heads have only scratches it might be cheaper to use sandpaper and fill the scratches and get them repainted (or powder-coated).
