Birthday Ride

Turned 64 today; Will you still need me, will you still feed me...high school class of 64 age; so I worked this morning; came home at noon and put on all the gear and headed into East San Diego County where we have tons of curves and two lanes and it was 80 degrees today....sorry about the rest of the country. We are expecting rain by weekend.

I think I have about 5-6K miles under me since I bought the R1100R in late April this year and traded it for the R1200R in late May. Things are starting to come together in the ride department. I've taken a bunch of classes, Keith Code, Walt Fulton, Lee Parks, and I'm trying to ride more with the local club.

Ok so all the stuff I read about the R1200R on the forum....it's all true. This bike has serious grunt .... amazing torque and power in just about any rpm range. I let a cruiser type go by me and thought I'd follow him for a while; that got boring quickly and I nailed three gears on a short straight and he disappeared in the rear view. Life is good.

Have you seen "BMW R1200R Vs. Palomar Mtn. Road"? It's one of the best-made R12R videos I've seen.
