Bars for 12R
I'm looking for flatter bars for my R12R. I've had some suggestions to buy a generic bar, and then do all sorts of machining and tapping and whatnot...not gonna happen. I need to be able to install a bar with basic tools. Somebody mentioned a Wunderlich "sport" bar but I couldn't find it on their website.
Will a Rockster bar plug-and-play on my bike? That's a flatter bar...one is on ebay right now.
Any other suggestions?

I can't remember the persons name on the board here but there was a post some time ago of a R12R with a Rizzoma bar that looked pretty good.

This bar is plug-n-play on most BMWs with standard diameter bar clamps. Should be just what I'm looking to do...

Following up for folks that might be interested...
This bar is NOT plug-n-play. It has fatter bar end attachments. You'd need new bar-ends. All the other grip/switchgear bolts on just fine.
Most importantly...despite the fact that it appears to offer a lower/farther hand position, it does not. It is within a quarter inch of stock hand position.

The Rizomas don't fit right on either. Drilling, tapping. New bar-ends. Steering stops...
I just want the bars more forward. Don't have to be lower (tank clearance problems). Just straighter-across instead of a bend toward the rider.
I might just rotate mine forward and bend the extensions to suit. They're steel, so the worst that would happen is the finish would crack. I could get them re-powdercoated for less than new bars.

Just a thought -- Take a look at 87-95 k75 s low bars might be what you want.

Hi I'm Kieran.
R1150R Rockster bars may be the answer.
There very flat and being BMW may not need to be drilled.
Worth a look. Also they are genuine BMW!

Dunno if they fit your needs - but they are the only aftermarket bars I've seen listed for the R12R..

Re: Bars for 12R
Those are higher/closer. I'm looking for lower/farther.
Wunderlich sells a "sport" bar in Europe. It would work, but needs different bar ends. Would be kinda pricey with shipping, etc. I'll try to find a Rockster bar first.
Thanks for looking at that...much appreciated.
