My rockster is hesitating

Post by 04rocksterorange »

hey there, first time to the site, love it lots of info!! this is my first "R" bike had a few k1200's. ok so this is whats happening. the bike has 18k on it. it starts a little hard but not to bad, then while riding "normal" it acc. fine but if i want to jump on it and twist the throttle all the way it will hesitate and kinda gurgle. as soon as i roll back very slowly on the throttle it will take off like a bat out of hell, like it should!!! also i can ride for 20-30 miles, when i come to a stop and say crack the gas a slight bit for a down shift into first at around 15mph occasionally it will stall, kinda burp and stall. i have ran 2 bottles fo fuel injection cleener through it, and last fall it had a 18k done. not to sure if anyone else has had this issue before. thanks for any help or hints!!!

Welcome to the group. Where are you located?

First guess would be a faulty stick coil, but there are other possibilities that other folks with experience will offer.

<edit> Check the following link to ADV for some comments about slow speed/RPM hesitation:

The ADV board is an especially good resource for Roadster./Rockster owners since our bikes' drivetrains are identical to the R1150GS.

If you look here on the Roadster/Rockster board, you can find "rough running" remarks and various fixes. Remember that some problems are specific to the Rockster's dual-spark engine (like other 2004+ R1150** bikes)... but there are certainly other occasional problems common to both single- and dual-spark 1150s.
