Question about replacing Brake Hose

Hello all,

I am working on a newly purchased '96 R1100R with ABS. After replacing the front brake master cylinder with a new anodized OEM from Beemer Boneyard, I found a small leak in the brake hose that is attached to the newly installed front brake master cylinder.

I have the new OEM hose ready to install. Do you suggest that I mostly fill up this 12" plus hose with brake fluid before replacing the leaking brake hose?

thanks

Bruce

Hi Bruce!
Not sure how you would do that; it sounds kind of messy and brake fluid is very bad to slop on painted surfaces, rubber, skin etc. You'll have to bleed the system anyway so I wouldn't bother trying to pre-fill a new brakeline before installing it.

Thanks. I kind of figured out that trying to fill the replacement hose wasnt a good idea. Got it done the old fashioned way and now the brakes are operational.
