rain cover

So....I don't have a garage or an easily accessible shed. I keep my bike in the driveway. I've been using a flimsy 40$ cover that is so non-waterproof that I have to cover that with a tarp and bungees. PIA.

Any good recommendations/links for a cover that will be dependably rain resistant? I am willing to pay more $$ since I end up purchasing a new cheap cover every year or two as they seem to disintegrate rapidly.

Thanks in advance.
Steven

Steven,

if I was you I would look for a bike cover made from breathable fabric. It should have good quality d-rings on either side which allows you to strap it using some bungee cords.

There is good stuff available from tourmaster, nelson rigg, covermax, viking motorcycle covers.

I have this cover available in Germany http://www.louis.de/index.php?topic=art ... 34&lang=en

Not sure what the cost is, but there is one made that looks like a [large opening pole tent] you actually ride the bike into, then pull the entrance 'curtain'? and frame down. Said to be breathe-able yet water proof. I'll look through some magazines lying around ,if I find the add?..I'll post more info.

Steven,

A friend of mine bought this: http://www.cycleshell.com/ after seeing it at a show in 2002. Not inexpensive, but it has lasted for years. Has a floor and the top kind of swings over the bike for easy access. I seem to remember that we buried a cinder block waith a chain attached in his yard and other end of chain locked through a hole in the floor of the cycleshell so less temptation for folks to walk away with it.

Thanks. Sounds perfect. Limited space available in drive way. Will check specs.
Thanks.
