R1100r seat modification

Has anyone modified the rider seat to make it more level with the rear seat? I just bought a 2000 R11R and the "hump" on the riders seat really gives no room to move about. Any suggestions or photos would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi GerryO.

Forgive me if you already knew this, but the front/rider's seat on that model has three height settings.

When you remove the rider's seat, there should be an allen key clipped to the under side of the seat.

You should then see where the two rubber bung thingies are attached to the frame, with high-medium and low positions.

Perhaps changing the height might give you the room to move that you want.

CC, thanks for that, but I already have the seat in the highest position. I'm 6"2 and need to move a bit further back, am going to see if I can get an upholsterer if its possible to level the whole rider seat out and make it flush with the passenger seat.

Hi
I had mine modified. About an inch higher and a better material which prevents the sliding forwards. Everybody loves the loks of my seat now. If you give me your e mail I will sent you a pic.

Tom,thanks for the photos, the seat looks really good. Now I'm on the lookout for a used seat that I can play about with.

If anyone has a R1100R riders seat just laying around.....contact me please!

I also had a modified seat from a German company called Kahedo. Same also prevented me from sliding towards the fuel reservoir ...

Its made by a German company called Wuedo and the part is called CR11 and p/n is 46-63-89-00. They still have it for the R1100R facelift version (after 1997 model).

Check http://www.wuedo.de
