Does anyone have experience with these hand guards? They are reasonably priced and there is a set that is recommended for the R. About 100$ new.
Wondering if worth it.

Not sure if you are looking for protection or warmth. I opted for a set of hippo hands. Not good looking at all, but they allow me to ride down to below freezing temps and still wear summer gloves.

I have the Barkbuster Storm Handguards on my R1150R. They were very easy to install, looks nice IMO, and does block the wind somewhat, helping the heated grips retain more heat. :)

Do you have any pictures of the barkbusters installed?

Did you have to modify or move the banjo bolts?

I have installed the storms too. Installation only took about 15 minutes. The kit comes with new longer hardware and they fit on the outside of the handlebar weights. I was worried for a bit because the handlebar ends were their only mounting point but after about 1500 miles they still haven't shifted. If you would like some pictures PM me and I'll e-mail them to you. 100 dollars sounds about right, I think I got mine off of amazon for around 80 bucks then shipping. It was a worthwhile investment, they do a decent job keeping the wind off my hands.

I put gs hand guards on my 850r for about $40 i think they were from a 1100gs but they look like my buddies 1150 gs as well. Am thinking they came from Max's BMW. They work ok just not very pretty. No modifications just bolt on. Good Luck

Thanks for help and pictures; looks a lot easier than installing the GS hand guards.

I just noticed that I originally started this thread! I finally ended up getting GS hand guards from a member of this site and love them. I rotated the clutch line (the banjo screw thingy) up and away to give additional room for the left hand guard. The right sided guard went on with no problem.
