Repairing finish on head fins
Hi guys, I've been doing some hard riding this year, and the other night while putzing around on the bike I saw a couple places between the fins on the heads where it appears some stones or something impacted and the silver finish is gone, replaced by a corroded spot. Not big, but just a shock to see them. Should I just sand them and put a dab of high temp paint or primer, or use a JB Weld of similar color, etc? Thanks.

I don't know how good a job (or pretty) JB Weld would be. My advice would be to thoroughly and lightly sand the area, use a proper high temp rated primer and then a top coat of the engine color. It may possibly be difficult to get a perfect match out of an off-the-shelf spray can, but if you go to one of the automotive paint supply outfits (just about every town has one) they can pretty closely match the paint and mix it and put it into a spray bomb for you.
